Family Fun Night 2014

Annually in October, the Cook Area Credit Union holds a popular - well known event called Family Fun Night.  This event is targeted towards children (ages 0-12) and their families.  Each year the credit union focuses towards a fun theme and strives towards educating children in the community.

2014 Fall Fair-  "Savings is in the Air at the CACU Fair"

The Cook Area Credit Union's 2014 annual Family Fun Night was another huge success - 170 children attended, with their families, in the North Woods School Commons Area.

This popular fair themed event included fun financial games, photo booth, bounce house, fortune($) teller, savings drive, food, prizes big and small, dart throw, phish game, and tons more!

At certain stations the kids were asked financial questions, if answered correctly they were given an extra try at that game.  The Fortune Teller, told the children the importance of their life choices and how it could affect them financially in their future.  The savings drive was rewarding children for starting their savings account.  If they opened an account at the event, a free money bank safe was given, along with a nice interest rate for their account.  If deposits were made at the student branch they were also rewarded for their savings by gifting them with a prize.  At one station, there was a jar of money - closest guess won the money!  Inside the jar it didn't look like much, but actually totaled close to $42 - going to show that every penny saved really adds up!  Drawings were held at the end of the event.

Prizes and Winners:

Free Night Stay at Edge Water Park - Steven Sopoci

Gumball Machine Bank with Gumballs - James Towner

Digital Counting Bank - Chloe Johnson

Money Guess Jar- Rory Bundy

This year the North Woods School Staff volunteered to support the family fun and financial education provided to their community. The staff assisted in games and serving food.  The support was appreciated by all children, families, and Credit Union Employees.
